Job vacancy: Experienced Upholsterer

Job Summary:
Starling Aerospace is seeking to employ an experienced upholsterer at its facilities/head office based in Leatherhead, Surrey.

The successful candidate must be able to work independently and be able to develop seat upholstery and style from bare frame to finished product including foam work, pattern development, sewing / top stitching and fitment of finished article to meet finished article.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Experience in Aircraft or Marine is preferred but not required
  • Must be able to follow both verbal and written instructions
  • Be able to work on their own, as well as in a team

Full time position is advertised but will also consider qualified contractors

Job Vacancy: Hurco Cnc Mill VM1 Programmer

SAI has expanded its in house manufacturing capabilities with the introduction of a Hurco VM1 and a Haas VF4 Vertical machining centres and various manual lathes and mills.  We are looking for an experienced prototype / tool maker to assist in development of new product.

Job Summary: 

  • CNC and manual machine tool specialist.
  • Programming of Hurco VM1 and Haas VF4 machining centres from engineering drawings or electronic files using the built in programming functions and Alphacam software.
  • Setting & Operating to achieve close tolerance prototype and short run products.
  • Produce tooling and holding fixtures for the above machines and other tools required to support production and assembly.
  • Planning machine loading to meet production demand and targets.
  • Identifying materials and tooling required for specific tasks.
  • Day to day preventive maintenance of machine.
  • Ensure Health and safety policies are adhered to at all times.
  • Liaising with the Design & Planning departments.
  • Advise senior management on potential cost savings within the engineering process.

Qualification and Skills:

  • Time served CNC apprenticeship or suitable NVQ.
  • Experienced manual mill and lathe operation.
  • Strong engineering background.
  • Be able to read engineering drawings.
  • Be able to manage day to day workload unsupervised.
  • Must have a “hands on, can do attitude”.


Salary
: up to 40K DOE.

 

Job Vacancy: Aircraft Interior Prep and Polisher

SAI are now expanding its in house manufacturing capabilities & are currently keen to recruit Aircraft Interior Prep and Polisher.

Job Summary: Responsibilities and duties.

  • Good background in auto body repair and paint or similar training
  • Experience with aircraft paint and finish techniques
  • Flat and curved panel preparation, masking and flat polishing to exceptional quality
  • Experience with Fiberglas and composite fill and finish
  • Identifying materials and tooling required for specific tasks.
  • Ensure Health and safety policies are adhered to at all times.

Qualification and Skills:

  • Proven experience within the Aircraft interiors sector.
  • Proven skills in a related business sector..
  • Ability to understand and work from Engineering drawings
  • Ability to take, understand and follow verbal direction.
  •  Be able to manage day to day workload unsupervised.
  • Must have a “hands on, can do attitude”.
  •  

Salary:- £18 / hr DOE

 

Job vacancy: Aircraft Interior Composite Manufacturing Engineer

Starling Aerospace is expanding its in house manufacturing capabilities and recruiting Composite Manufacturing Engineers at its facilities/head office based in Leatherhead, Surrey. 

Job Summary:

  • Producing Composite Interior monuments, such as Galleys, Closets, Dog Boxes and
    Cabinetry.
  • Produce MDF tooling and bonding fixtures.
  • Identifying materials and tooling required for specific tasks.
  • Ensure Health and safety policies are adhered to at all times.
  • Liaising with the Design & Planning departments.
  • Advise senior management on potential cost savings within the engineering process.

Qualification and Skills:

  • Proven experience within the Aircraft interiors sector.
  • Ability to produce Composite Bonded structures from flat panels.
  • Ability to understand and work from Engineering drawings
  • Strong engineering background.
  • Be able to manage day to day workload unsupervised.
  • Must have a “hands on, can do attitude”.
